Triage 03:43
Can never seem to get it right Everywhere there's trash strewn around Did I really just pass that fight? Half the time I need to lie down A sight Unseen We never would have thought A light Unclean Thick skin becomes so taught Can never feel too polite Every stare drives home the town Did I really just think they'd bite? Half the time I need to lie down I'm a bee In clover And I need triage I can't be Any help They need triage All the things I've left out They need triage There's no way Until you're here They need triage TRIAGE
2.
I don’t have a doubt The world is not a stage anymore We got the runaround The TV blares, it’s bought with a loan You try To be Against Nature Just as you’ve been told They don’t hear the shouts Unless it can be sold in a store A file in a mound The power's off but you’re not alone And relax, it’s a common mistake No need to grieve or try that hard Relax, it’s a common mistake Until it’s not And it’s not! I don’t have a doubt The world is not a stage anymore It’s staged
3.
More of Us 02:47
The years zip by And I'll wonder why How would they even know if we were gone? Exploded scenes Those forbidden dreams But someone must remember or why else try? I have to trust that there's more of us It's in your eyes And I'll wonder why How do we work to see those lines drawn? Forgotten teens What old friends demean But someone must remember or why else try? More of us
4.
Comfort Zone 01:40
Lost Your Vision! The less that they care the more I do I was under an impression That we were meant to be loud In the wake of your digression I amplify every sound
5.
Had to Look 03:07
I'll drift awhile In a stream of those prized awards We could swim a mile Through a lake of the years we've adored But I had to look away I'm resting on each laurel Shoulda, coulda, woulda been Wilted with all we know Losing track of where and when How far do you think it is to the shore? Untied from this dock so that I don't slip Believe me it's been such a lovely time But I'll start to sink if we repeat it I had to look away

about

Now available in cassette and digital formats courtesy of Disposable America Records -

"Both pitched and presented as their most personal work to-date, the new EP from Portland’s Lubec is a lashing-out against the system, five distinct songs that reflect their own thoughts on many of societies ills. Tense, direct, and full of pent-up energy, the new EP also offers perhaps their most invigorating work to-date, teeming with personality and a grittiness that feels resoundingly cathartic.

Released this week via the ever-dependable Disposable America label - Against Nature bristles with angst throughout, the band’s breezier moments always met with a fiery energy that dominates the overall mood, stoking an atmosphere that barely lets up.

The band are quoted as saying they “believe that there’s a middle ground between the serene and erratic” and that vision has never been more rewardingly brought-to-life than it is here. For all of the anxiety that needles away throughout, the songs themselves feel somewhat jubilant, buoyed by a desire the various messages to be felt as much as heard.

From the choppy brilliance of its opening track ‘Triage’, to the sprightly ‘Comfort Zone’ and the more melodic closer, ‘Had To Look’, the EP is both an emphatic reminder of the trio’s guile, and a stand-alone statement in its own right."
